There are some regulations when you hunt with a crossbow:

It is beneficial to have the proper attire and gear if you are going to hunt bear. If you are just using a crossbow, you need to be very aware of the targets beyond the scope of your crossbow.
Resist the urge to shoot straight away if possible. There are many bows available and you can often find cheaper alternatives. Just remember that if you are not 100% sure of your shot, take some time to be safe.
